The Amarnath Yatra Trekking Tour Package from Jammu is the classic pilgrimage walk. From Chandanwari, 16 km above Pahalgam, the trail climbs Pissu Top to the Sheshnag lake camp (3,570 m), crosses the Mahagunas Pass at 4,276 m, the highest point of the yatra, and descends to the Panchtarni camp before the last 6 km to the holy cave. The return is by the short Baltal route, which keeps the trek to three days.
We arrange the guide, porters or ponies for luggage, tents with bedding at Sheshnag and Panchtarni, meals from the camp kitchens and langars, the RFID checks and a vehicle waiting at Baltal. Pilgrims who tire can take a pony on any section at the district rate, or fly from Panchtarni to Baltal on the helicopter at the published fare.
The plan starts and ends at Jammu Tawi for train travellers, with a Srinagar night before and after the trek. The trek needs reasonable fitness and the Compulsory Health Certificate; it is not advised for pilgrims above 60 without a doctor's clearance.
The order of sightseeing can change with weather, convoy timings, Shrine Board instructions and darshan queues.

All hotels have attached bathrooms, hot water and vegetarian meals. Rooms at Baltal and on the trail are tents run by the camp operators, so comfort there is basic on every category. Houseboats at Srinagar are moored on Dal or Nigeen Lake and reached by shikara.
Helicopter fares and pony rates are fixed each season by the Shrine Board and the district administration and are paid at the published rate.

Helicopter tickets are sold only through the Shrine Board's authorised channel, need the registration number and ID of each pilgrim, and are issued for one date and one sector. Flights run in clear weather between early morning and mid afternoon; grounded sorties are refunded by the operator. No, because the Shrine Board fixes the helicopter fare every season and sells tickets only through its authorised channel. We book the Pahalgam to Panchtarni sector for your registered date and add it at cost, about ₹9,800 round trip in recent seasons.
The Shrine Board announces the dates in spring. The yatra usually opens in late June or early July and closes on Raksha Bandhan in August. We take bookings with a refundable deposit until the dates are published.
We guide you through the online registration, the Compulsory Health Certificate from an authorised doctor and the RFID card collection, and we match hotel and helicopter dates to the registration slot. The Shrine Board fee itself is paid by the pilgrim.
Pilgrims aged 13 to 70 with a valid CHC. Women more than six weeks pregnant are not permitted. The cave is at about 3,888 m, so anyone with heart, lung or blood pressure problems should take medical advice before booking.
Bad weather or a security pause can hold the yatra for a day or more. The package carries a pony, palki or trek backup and flexible hotel nights. Helicopter tickets for sectors that do not fly are refunded by the operator. Extra hotel nights beyond the plan are charged at the contracted rate.
