Helicopter charges for the Amarnath Yatra are set per pilgrim per sector by the Shrine Board with the approved operators and are identical on every booking channel; nobody is permitted to sell the ticket above the published rate. Agents may charge a small service fee for booking on your behalf, which we show separately.
The sector charge covers the flight and the helipad fees. Separate charges apply for the pony or palki from Panchtarni to the cave, for passengers above the operator's weight limit, and for extra hotel nights if weather holds the sortie. In recent seasons the Baltal charge was about ₹2,800 and the Pahalgam charge about ₹4,900 one way.

Fares are from recent seasons and are indicative. The Shrine Board publishes the 2027 helicopter fare with the yatra schedule. Grounded sorties are refunded by the operator.

No. The fare is fixed and tickets are issued through the authorised channel at that rate. A service fee for booking on your behalf is allowed if it is shown separately; ours is ₹500 per ticket for non-package pilgrims and nil for package pilgrims.
Only through the Shrine Board's authorised online channel and the counters of the approved operators. Tickets are per pilgrim, for one date and one sector, against the yatra registration number. We book them for package pilgrims on the opening day.

No. It depends on Shrine Board and security approval each season and on weather every day. In some years no helicopter service was operated. Our packages keep a pony, palki or trek backup and refund the ticket if the sector does not fly.
About 6 km, 2 to 3 hours on foot each way. Ponies and palkis are available at the helipad at rates fixed by the district administration.
