The booking cost of the Amarnath helicopter is more than the ticket: a pilgrim also needs the night at Sonamarg or Pahalgam before the sortie, the vehicle to the base, the pony or palki from Panchtarni if needed and the Srinagar hotel on either side. This page adds them up for a typical pilgrim.
The ticket itself was about ₹5,600 round trip from Baltal and ₹9,800 from Pahalgam in recent seasons. A self-arranged helicopter darshan from Srinagar comes to roughly ₹12,000 to ₹16,000 per pilgrim over three days; our three-day package with the ticket is ₹19,900 with the hotel, vehicle and coordinator included.

No. It depends on Shrine Board and security approval each season and on weather every day. In some years no helicopter service was operated. Our packages keep a pony, palki or trek backup and refund the ticket if the sector does not fly.
About 6 km, 2 to 3 hours on foot each way. Ponies and palkis are available at the helipad at rates fixed by the district administration.
