The helicopter yatra day by day: three, four and five-day plans from Srinagar and Jammu, the sortie morning hour by hour, and the checklist for the helipad.
A helicopter itinerary for the Amarnath Yatra has three parts: a night at Srinagar or Jammu to collect the RFID card and acclimatise, a night at the base (Sonamarg for Baltal, Pahalgam for the Pahalgam sector), and the sortie morning with the 6 km to the cave. Three days is the minimum from Srinagar; four or five days add a buffer night and sightseeing.
The sortie morning starts at 5 am. Sorties fly from first light in slot order, the walk or pony ride to the cave takes two to three hours each way, and the return sorties run until early afternoon. Pilgrims who miss the last flight stay at the Panchtarni camp and fly the next morning, which is why the buffer night matters.

Only through the Shrine Board's authorised online channel and the counters of the approved operators. Tickets are per pilgrim, for one date and one sector, against the yatra registration number. We book them for package pilgrims on the opening day.
About ₹2,800 one way from Baltal and ₹4,900 one way from Pahalgam to Panchtarni in recent seasons. The Shrine Board publishes the 2027 fare with the schedule.
No. It depends on Shrine Board and security approval each season and on weather every day. In some years no helicopter service was operated. Our packages keep a pony, palki or trek backup and refund the ticket if the sector does not fly.
About 6 km, 2 to 3 hours on foot each way. Ponies and palkis are available at the helipad at rates fixed by the district administration.
